Our Next Generation Approach ...

Conservation needs new technology and a constantly advancing, evolving approach.

We are built on a next generation Web3 technology called Hedera – a public ledger technology which enables us to accept and transparently record and show all inward donations and outward financial transactions. We can show all donors helping these species exactly where their donation is used, when, on what, and why.

We make donating to wildlife conservation a transparent, accountable, trustworthy, and interactive experience for each, and every, donor.

What is Hedera?

Hedera is an open source, proof-of-stake network, governed by a council of industry-leading organizations.

Why Hedera?

Simple – transparency, accountability, trust, and the technology.

Hedera Hashgraph is a public distributed ledger – considerably faster, fairer, with lower fees, higher throughput, and is more secure than other blockchains. Very importantly – Hedera is also completely environmentally sustainable and is carbon negative.

Operational Partner Transparency Ledger

To remain 100% accountable to our donors, we log and tier the subsidies and support of every operational service partner and affiliate.

Tier 1: The Catalyst Tier - 100% Subsidised

Criterion: Services provided entirely free of charge to 5WF to help us save life.

The Impact: “These organisations completely waive their fees or absorb our operational costs, channelling 100% of our infrastructure needs directly back into our core mission.”

Tier 2: The Champion Tier - 75% – 99% Subsidised

Criterion: Deeply discounted services where the company covers the majority of the bill.

The Impact: “Our significant partners, providing vital infrastructure at greatly reduced cost, absorbing substantial levels of commercial rates for our benefit.”

Tier 3: The Supporter Tier - 25% – 74% Subsidised

Criterion: Some non-profit discounts or mid-tier service concessions.

The Impact: “Organisations providing standard community discounts, helping us reduce administrative overhead and lower operational friction.”

Tier 4: The Contributor Tier - 1% – 24% Subsidised

Criterion: Nominal discounts, minor introductory offers, or small fee waivers.

The Impact: “Service providers offering very minor adjustments or temporary minor fee concessions to assist our day-to-day operations.”

Tier 5: The Commercial Tier - 0% Subsidised

Criterion: 5WF pay at full market retail value, or organisations which have declined financial assistance or service support.

The Impact: “Commercial vendors; services we need here have either been refused or are funded entirely from our operational donation reserves.”

Hedera Ecosystem Tier

Criterion: Organisations which have declined any financial and/or service support.

The Impact: “Hedera Governance Council members and projects in the Hedera Hashgraph Ecosystem, the technology on which we are built, who have disappointingly refused to support saving life transparently and accountably.”
